First, I want to clarify what I mean by The Church. I do not refer to the English Church, Catholic or any denomination of Jesus believers. By The Church, I refer collectively to all who have accepted Jesus of Nazareth (son of Mary and Joseph) as the Messiah (Saviour) foretold by the Jewish prophets in the Hebrew or Old Testament sections of the Christian Bible. They are those who have personally put their trust in his sacrifice to redeem and reconcile them to YHWH - the God of Everything that exists.
They are those built on, as Apostle Paul says, '' ...God’s solid foundation (which) stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”
This is the Day of the Church.
It is our time to spread the flavour of God's kingdom throughout the whole earth.
Micah in Micah 4:1-2 predicted that:
In the last days
the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established
as the highest of the mountains;
it will be exalted above the hills,
and peoples will stream to it.
Many nations will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law will go out from Zion,
the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
As we read on, the verses Micah4:3-4 (please read) reveal a future that can only beyond this current age on Earth. Especially as we compare them with the prophetic scriptures in Revelation 21.1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Prophetic visions are usually not chronological and various parts of one vision may refer to multiple or different time periods. So why do I believe that the first 2 parts of Micah are about the Church now? Let us look at the opening line- ''in the last days''. This phrase is not used for the time after the restoration of all things but the age just before the end and restoration of all things. Moreso, we can see it refers to the Lord's temple but in Revelation 21: 22, John the Apostle and Seer (Seeing Prophet) wrote ''I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
But in Micah4:1-2, the temple was still functional and as the Lord revealed to me, WE the people of the Messiah are that Temple.
Jesus said, after he resurrected, to his followers:
''And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth; having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them -- to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,'' Matthew 28:18-19 YLT
Here Jesus boldly declares the age we are in as the age where
1. ALL authority in Heaven and Earth BELONGS to Jesus and as a result,
2. All his followers have the authority to make Disciples by Teaching them to obey all Jesus taught.
This correlates with what Micah saw:
''the mountain of the Lord’s temple (the body of believers) will be established
as the highest of the mountains;
it will be exalted above the hills,( all authority in heaven and earth)
and peoples (nations) will stream to it.
Many nations will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law will go out from Zion,
the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
This is the place and purpose of The Church today. Now All authority belongs to us. We go and teach the nations for they are hungry and coming to learn to walk in the paths of Jesus and YHWH. YHWH is counting on us to take our responsibility seriously because these are the last days.
Amen.
Even so Come, Lord Jesus.
