The Glory

''Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” Exodus 33:18

One can spend decades studying the scriptures and never fully grasp the meaning. The full meaning and context of some words such as ''kābôd” which is mostly translated as ''glory'' in the 'Old Testament' will elude one except the spirit of God provides the insight.

I am grateful to have been exposed to that generation of leaders who believed they had to hear from the Lord before they preached any message. They had to have the scriptures explained by the spirit of God to gain understanding. For those preachers, it was not enough just to preach something 'relevant'; as oracles of God, they knew they had to hear from the Lord.

Oracles are mouthpieces: they yield themselves to YHWH so He can voice his thoughts, guidance, care and life through them. As Peter the Apostle said,

''if someone speaks, let him speak God’s words; if someone serves, let him do so out of strength that God supplies; so that in everything God may be glorified through Yeshua the Messiah — to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.''1 Peter 4:11 CJB

One moment of insight from the Spirit of God is worth much more than decades of human rationalisation.

What is the glory of God?

The best answer is that given by the Lord himself.

''...I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. ...When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.” Exodus 33:19,22-23

The glory of God is to experience the goodness of God, gain insight into the majesty and import of his name, see or receive his mercy and bask in his compassion.

The glory of God is also that apparition or representation of the majesty of his person manifested in such a way that our human senses can grasp.

Jesus was the glory of the word of God manifested in Human flesh. John 1:14

He exhibited that glory while he walked this earth as a man. And gave us (his followers) the glory he also had so that we could pour the glory of the Father into this thirsty world by doing what he did and by our unity. (John 17)

Today may we unify to cause the glory of God to cover the earth as the waters cover the sea by inviting as many as we can to tune in to the Healing Streams programme of Christ Embassy held today 28 -30th of July 2023. The Lord wants to pour his love, healing and life into as many as will receive all around the World. Now is a time to open the door so that the knowledge of the glory of God may cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.

For His Kingdom

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”John 11:40

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14

''Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea. But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing'' Ezekiel 47: 9 -12 NIV
